Simply Six Minutes

Joey tugged at his mom’s hand, “look!” They were walking through deep wet snow on the way to Grandma’s home, about a mile down the country road. Joey loved seeing his grandma because every time provided warm treats this time of year. Hot chocolate, sugared donuts, or a plate of cheese cubes and rye crackers. Grandma always was prepared for the children’s visits.

Joey tugged again on his mom, “look it’s a bear!” Joey’s mom stopped, suddenly frightened and grabbed Joey close.Where? Where is a bear?” Then Joey pointed to the snow laden tree by the road. She loosened her grip and sighed. Then they started laughing and walked on.
