The entire neighborhood wanted to celebrate and demonstrate the beauty of their community garden. Even neutral minded people, unsure of the sustainable benefit, joined in to help transform a previously unused, unsightly block of land into a beloved space. To encourage participation, a few local businesses supplied basic seeds and tools to the startup. A blend of vegetables and flowers made the space both practical and attractive. Showers of praise were heard as the garden grew and supplied a more varied menu for some of the disadvantaged neighbors.
