Apology

The salt air stung her face as she searched among the dozens of shells scattered in the sand. Julie followed along the edge of the sea so familiar to her. She had made many trips over the years seeking beautiful seashells, but today was looking for a larger special one to make a pendant for her daughter. She hoped the gift would mollify her daughter’s feelings. Being a mother to a teenage girl was not always easy.
