The prose is brief and simple and usually written in the present tense.
The haiku should not attempt to repeat, quote, or explain the prose.
A haibun should be titled.

My new apartment is in a building where the atmosphere resembles a hotel. Therefore I have a neighbor directly across from my “front” door that opens up into a hallway.
