Joe started to grumble, tightening his grip on the subpar mobile phone that never executed an internet speed of more than most common cheap cels. He bought it with the promise of a new 5G capability, even in this backwards area. It was his only link to civilization at the moment and his car was out of gas.
He sat back down in the cabin’s porch rocker, and watched the shadows in the surrounding woody area. The cry of some animal he didn’t recognize was getting closer. The only help he had was a sharp pocket knife he always carried in case of emergencies. He hoped this wasn’t going to be one of them.

I hacked out a toe nail that was giving me some serious grief – enough to prevent me walking, so I dug a chunk of it out, bit of an infection risk, but here I am. Curt a wart out of my foot once too, what the young will do Eh?

Yikes…when fishing on a huge miles long lake in Maine a woman flagged us down from the shoreline. My dad had to cut out a big fish hook from her thumb. She just sat there smoking nervously. Ouch!

Had to take a hook out of my son’s thumb, yes, not easy, he was less relaxed and no cigarette either, great that your dad was there.
