
Cold and wet, tired and exhausted, she sighed, as there was no escape. She would suffer long and hard before day was done. This kitchen was certainly no jocund atmosphere for her novice cook. It was so hot they had to continually wipe sweat from their faces. Heaven forbid any salty drops landed in his bowl! Watching the young apprentice, she recalled bittersweet memories of her own first days in a king’s kitchen.
