Life in a Fish Tank

His fingers filled with fibers of protein as he finished feeding the fish, he flirted with the idea of holding one in his hand for a moment, watching them flounder on the fringe at the finish of their life.

Bringing himself back from the momentary freeze of this thought, he forged ahead to the next tank. Following the flow of life contained in tiny bodies, swimming forever in circles, he imagined their life as boring as his own.
