A slight luminescence draped over the stenciled gravestones, even though it was pouring rain. A funeral is out of my comfort zone, but I felt obligated as she was my favorite aunt, and when it seemed an endless thousand prayers were offered for the deceased, I did realize a lump in my throat. The rain seemed to come down in intermittent sheets and we were struggling to maintain a steady stance on sodden ground.
As the prayers ended, suddenly sunlight shone through the rain and it stopped. The mourners including me were shocked at the abrupt conclusion of rain. The sun starting as a small crack in the clouds, spread and shone down on my aunt’s gravesite. I’m not a true believer, but it seemed something phenomenal had occurred.
