A short anecdote from 1999, shopping with my daughter and three year old granddaughter who was of course tired and ready to go to her promised reward of a lunch at McDonalds.
My daughter and I were reviewing possible purchases and apparently took too long. My granddaughter spouted, “the bag or not?” , meaning, are we getting this or not? It’s still a favorite phrase we use today for making up our minds.
Love it! Reminds me of when my own child was around 4–Ken was trying to get a photograph of her and a friend and was taking so long that she finally burst out: “Dad, just take the frigging picture!” We still say that today:-)
