A paradox of virtues
Often repeated
What does it mean, as I am seated
Laundry washing, house cleaned
A paradox, does it mean
The virtue lies before me seen
I should be proud to see the gleam?
A “truth” – a woman’s work is never done
And a man works from sun to sun?
A quandary here, you might say
Positions vary in this day
Both roles may reverse in ways
Does virtue lie in accomplishment
Even if it seems a punishment
Possibly the paradox is this
Does not matter mister or miss
A job well done promotes bliss.
