I’ve never been to England
I would love to go
I’m curious about the chip
And I would like to know
Fish and chips look yummy
I’ve had them here at home
We call the chips fries instead
No matter what the form
It’s like cookies they call biscuits
What the difference is unknown
Muffins, are they English?
The label says it’s so
Why the names are odd
Only dictionaries tell
Regardless, like the lot of them
And on this point I dwell
They’re tasty and delicious all
But have no answers to my quell.

Well Cheryl if you do come to England, I would take you for great fish and chips! The hard part would be deciding if you want gravy, mushy peas or curry sauce to accompany them.

Is that what that green cup was? Curry sauce?

Muffins are not English. They must have brought them all over here, and left none in England. Biscuits over here are more like a plain scone, so I got confused with biscuits and sausage gravy. I wouldn’t want to dunk my English biscuit in sausage gravy. Haha.

I have an English friend who loves to correct me on these terms. We met online when we disagreed about what constituted a muffin.🙄😂

A muffin is more like a crumpet in England.
