Linda’s Prompt for Saturday is instructions. I’m reaching back to the 70’s for this story of my dad and his brother in law, who I adored, Uncle Chape. They were visiting us in Houston on their way to San Padre Island and each bought a metal detector to use on the beach. Uncle Chape got up early and threw his detector together. He was a small wiry impatient man and when done, it didn’t work. Later my dad went out to find Chape opening his package and threw a fit. My dad used the instructions and his detector worked fine. We all had a laugh about it. I miss my uncle, he was charming and funny and great story teller, sometimes making up his own words.☺️He certainly was an original.
