Charlie ran into the backyard with some parts for the experiment. Joe’s mom let them play there undisturbed. Joe’s mom loved her soap operas and sweet tea in the afternoon and summer was always fun in Joe’s backyard. Three small boys gathered here almost every afternoon and let their imaginations run wild.
Jack was the most creative and today his new idea was coming to fruition. It had taken the three inventors a few days of snooping, sneaking and scavenging their own homes and garages to compile all the necessary items to complete Jack’s idea. Today was the day! Three anxious young geniuses gathered around the pile of a soon to be rocket. It had taken Jack a few attempts to steal the old manual from his dad’s library where “no kids were allowed”, but he accomplished it and now the three poured over the instructions.
Finally thinking every piece of equipment necessary laid before them, they all looked at each other at once with huge smiles. Jack read the manual and the other two started assembling the materials. Jack offered aloud what they were all thinking, “This is going to be epic!”

What today’s children need. Fewer tests and more imagination and creativity. I liked the story. I could visualize their anticipation and joy.
