“My god, if I never see another wheat field, it will be too soon!” Marcia was tired from the cross country ride, and was bored enough to use her usual razor sharp tongue to make Dudley feel her disgust once again. “Give me the sight of my New York skyscrapers, or Los Angeles–even Houston would be preferable to this boring landscape. First corn, endless rows of the stuff, and now wheat, how monotonous can you get? We should have flown out instead. Another terrific idea you had, Dudley–let’s take a road trip, see the country…well I’ve seen plenty and I’m getting off at the next city. My god, is it Denver? We’ll almost be at your mother’s by that time. No use flying from there! Wake me when we hit the mountains.”
