I stand there against the wind, hair flying, chilling my bones, making the world around me cold and icy blue.
I remember another time, a warm sunny day, waves tickling my sandy feet, all happiness expected to last, that dreamlike state I was in when I loved you and you loved me. We ran along, hand in hand, smiling, laughing, you threatening to dunk me in the surf.
Now I wonder where you are, where I am, for the warmth disappeared, the sun hides, and the sand cold and unyielding. I still stand here from time to time, wishing. Perhaps if I stand here long enough, things will change and I will see you running towards me with the sun streaming on your back, sand flying behind your steps. I wish it.
