
I was reluctant, thought it wasn’t possible. It was too good, too romantic, too satisfying, and too unlikely to exist. It did. Only for a few short years, and at the zenith of it, I was in heaven here on earth. We made it that, in just a short time, a secret connection in which I found my soulmate. Often resembled, rarely true, yet we found each other.
And as with most seemingly perfect relationships, it collapsed, now crushed under the cold hard stone of reality. The odds were always against us.
