Deciding to take the boat out on his own, Jack didn’t realize what was in store. His dad told him never to do it, and there were reasons for that. Reason one, it was an old rickety boat and needed repairs. Reason two, Jack wasn’t a great swimmer at thirteen years old, but thought he was too cool for lessons.
Jack snuck out after dinner and rowed out quite a distance. As the clouds gathered and rain poured down, he lost his bearings. The old wood soaked it up quickly and holes needing filled provided the rest of Jack’s demise.
