Why is it the old recipes in your worn cookbook or recipe file seem to be the best? Are they truly the “comfort” food we all turn to when we are stressed, sick, or needing a return to the time when we were safely enclosed in a loving environment?
The atavism of turning to familiar feel-good food is universal. People just naturally feel more comfortable in familiar situations. Trying new things is an adventure we all need to do, but when the world starts closing in upsetting our normal routine, it’s good to return to a safe place.
