100 Word Wednesday #70

“Not many books”, he said with a scowl

As in her home he continued to prowl

“I’d thought you were at least a reader,

Since you call yourself a teacher.”

A student’s parent had come to visit

Investigating the young snippet

Who indeed taught his son

But she wasn’t the only one.

His son was a challenge in her eyes

Meeting his dad, she now knew why

Offering tea, trying to be civil

Politely listened to his drivel.

Caring teachers are out there

So try to be polite and fair

Peering into their personal space

Takes lots of nerve and not any grace.
