Sunday Photo Fiction – Best Laid Plans

“We did it!”

“It’s gonna be great, having no school, no Mr. Smith bugging us all day.”

“Yeah, and no homework for days!”

Joe and Mike were proud of what they accomplished. They put a dead skunk in the ceiling of the building and now the whole school was closed down for days. The hard part was killing the skunk and transporting it to the school. Fortunately they had access to an old Igloo Playmate cooler that hid the foul fumes. Then it was just a matter of sneaking the offending item up into the styrofoam ceiling tiles. Luckily they were easily and quickly removed and the boys snuck out before being discovered.

As they stood there, feeling victorious, the principal walked up. “Missing school already, boys?” The boys turned quickly, startled by Mr. Smith’s presence. “No worries, the gym at the rec center is going to hold classes for us while the school is fumigated.”
