September 28. Write a 100 word story beginning with “Once there was a castle”.
Once there was a castle low in the desert valley with no moat, no ocean or mountains offering protection. King Woe lived alone in the sprawling structure, and decided to isolate himself in this huge wasteland because of a lost love. The King could remember nothing but missed opportunities, and unfortunate circumstances.
King Woe’s day consisted of watching dust blow over the neverending landscape from his tower. A certain dust whorl attracted his attention. The image cleared, revealing a woman atop a trotting camel. She looked very familiar–could this be his lost
love coming to save him from loneliness?
