Month of Mini Writing Challenges 19

September 19. You’re on your way to work and a new, strange-looking shop has opened over night. You are drawn to it and go in but what – or who – is inside? Tell us in less than 100 words

The sun bounced off the glass orb, drawing Marie’s attention. She’d never seen this storefront before, the blinding light illuminating the window. She was instantly interested in the glass ball, sitting on an ornately carved stand. Suddenly finding herself inside the shop and lifting the orb from its stand, the shopkeeper rushed over.

“I’ll take it!” She announced, never asking the price, surprising the shopkeeper whose usual experience was bargaining. He quickly wrapped it up before she could change her mind.

Marie sat in her living room, eyes and hands glued to the sphere, anything else in her life forgotten.
