I suppose it’s not said today

Growing up in forty-eight

Weird behavior from a child

Really normal, but considered wild

Brought a parental remark

“Are you from another planet?”

Those were the days of Area 51

Under the hot Nevada sun

Meteors landing creating craters

All knew they’d be landing sooner or later

Aliens!  Green, tiny and scary

With long arms that were not hairy

Who would think this might occur?

Just about all the hims and hers

Being a kid, it was all a blur

Movie producers became entrepreneurs

Barkers selling strange foil hats

Investigation by bureaucrats

Those were the days of the fifties

Not all of it was “really nifty”.
