“I’ll give you twenty-five cents and a piece of bubblegum.” He reached deep into his pocket and pulled out a linty piece of unwrapped gum. In his other pocket he found the quarter.
“Uh, Bobby! This gum looks like it’s been licked! Yuck, no thanks! I’ll take the quarter, what else ya got?”
The two boys were sitting on Sally’s stoop. Negotiating a trade always was an interesting way to fill lazy Sunday afternoons. Bobby needed a present and Joey just retrieved a ring from the gumball machine.
“Okay”, as he took the coin,”Sally’s gonna love it!”
