The guilty man was on trial

Thought he could use his wiles

To jurors he was all smiles

His alibi ran for miles

Prosecutor read the files

Defendant’s excuses he defiled

Judge and jury all the while

Didn’t buy the bad profile

Innocent! They said, not vile!

Prosecutor said, you’re in denial

They fell for the guilty’s guiles

There won’t be a need for a mistrial.
