A lot of things came to mind with this word. I guess the most prominent was regarding the death penalty. I’m not here to debate either way. In fact I’ve been on both sides. When I was younger I thought there are some people who commit unthinkable acts and should receive no mercy. And then I thought if they did these things, they can’t be in their right mind, so should they be put to death for it? Luckily these questions have not affected me or my relatives in a personal way. I can’t imagine the sorrow involved all the way around.
Now that I have experienced more of life, I think there is no mercy in murdering another human being, even in what some say is a humane way. There is no humane way, I don’t think it’s our decision to make.
