If I stay very quiet under this tree they won’t suspect a thing. Well, I am a feline after all, so they might suspect, but they won’t be able to prove anything. That’s why it’s so nice having a dog in the family. They’re so big and clumsy, they always get the blame.
I see the target. When everyone leaves the room, I’ll make my move. I’m surprised they put those fronds in the Christmas arrangement in the first place. I do love them. They are furry and flop around like a squirrel’s tail, and squirrels are so much fun to chase.
Okay, Barney just lumbered in and there’s not a human in sight! Perfect! Sneaking, sneaking, jump! I grab a couple of fronds and escape to my cushion. I stretch out and pretend I’m asleep.
“Oh, Barney! Bad dog, bad dog”
I timed it perfectly. Heh, heh, heh…
