Share Your World – Week 50

Hey, how’s it going everyone? If you’re like me ( heaven forbid),  you are not done with shopping. But, that’s okay, a whole two weeks to go!

1. One of my favorite smells is apple pie baking. Not that frozen kind, but the kind my mom used to make with Macintosh apples, butter, lemon juice, cinnamon, and a touch of nutmeg. I can smell it now…..I think it’s a favorite because it brings memories of her, and she was an amazing woman, and a top notch cook.

2. We had a few pets from the Dumb Friends League in Denver. One I miss still was Smokey, a huge German Shepard wolf mix. He arrived from a box left in the street as a car threw it out and sped off. He was scary to strangers, but was so huge he literally hung over our chain link fence to let the neighbor’s pet him. He was fierce when he would run into the garage and full force land upon the garage door, practically shaking it off the hinges. I’ll write about him later. At the present in this complex, I can’t afford a pet and it would be difficult to care for one.

3. I am a music lover and to relax I usually do a game or puzzle while listening to it. The only rap song I like is the one by a veteran who spoke honestly about what it’s like to be one.

4. I am grateful to my granddaughter who took time to help me get a Christmas tree, standing coatless in the freezing wind while the tree guy waited on others, then tied it on the car. I also thank my grandson who came from work to put the tree in a stand. I have wonderful loving grandchildren.

I am looking forward to getting preparations for Christmas done so I can sit around and enjoy my sons and their families coming to visit.
