“I thought I heard you crying. Are you hurt? Bad dream?” He went over to sit on the bed. Huge tears on her cheeks. He felt her fear, his heart sank. “We will all be okay, you’ll see. It will just take some time.” He got up and walked to her bureau. “Would you like to take this picture to bed with you?” She looked so distressed, but took the frame and laid it on her pillow. He gave his daughter a hug, and she settled down under the covers again. She fell asleep with her eyes on the photograph.
