I first think of newspapers and then crossword puzzles, they still come in black and white I think. Remember getting black ink on your hands reading a fresh newspaper? It is nostalgic if you can find a good old newspaper anymore. We have a local one but it seems to repeat stories – sort of like google…I used to sign my letters with “all the news that’s fit to print” from an editorial in 1896 “New York Times”. It became the NYT motto. And then there’s the NYT crossword puzzle, known as the most famous, especially for one published on Election Day, 1996. It had clues that could be interpreted two ways depending on who won, Clinton or Dole. Currently the NYT crossword puzzle has the easiest solution on Monday, the hardest, on Saturday. Do you read an actual newspaper or do a crossword every day?

Number 3:

Something that’s hush hush here in Wyoming is the state of our country. Defunding FEMA in hurricane season? Wise move. But it should be discussed and I’m happy to see all the protests around the US, big and little cities, even in Utah for heaven’s sake…that was not a pun or slam on Utah. Here in Wyoming you don’t talk about it or the good ol boys might pay you a visit. And now we have ooen carry without permits needed gun control. So yes, I believe we all should be discussing the lack of laws, but no one dares to.

Something that opens…say it’s my mind. Stream of consciousness right? So my mind opens when I’m still in bed, turn over and grab my phone to see if the world’s on fire. Well today it’s not, on fire anyway. If google ever updated their “stories” I might find out but I choose CNN or NPR for news. It would be nice to know if there was a good news outlet that didn’t charge you or have ads all over the actual news so you could read it, but no. NPR is the one that’s still hanging in there. PBS is another one we may lose to “budget cuts”. I believe of course these outlets will be defunded because they do not agree with the current US administration. Consciousness, see? That’s plenty open today!

Us Americans, who are we really? Are we the proud citizens who supposedly live under rules, rules set out 249 years ago? Apparently not. Look at your friends and family, neighbors, and tell me if you see someone who may be afraid to go out of their house, or lost their job, who can claim they are feeling safe sending children to school, who can’t go to a doctor, who can’t afford food, who can’t pay their mortgage…how many do you see? Is this how America was founded? Trump wants you to vote R in the primaries, show him what YOU want.
