“Gardening is always a chore, just one more job I had to do. Never mind the cooking, washing, cleaning that’s required inside the house, but the outside too? The garden had a few flowers to make the planting, weeding, and harvesting more pleasant, but it took time. Time away from my husband whose job was taking him away till the weekends, time away from my children, and time for myself. What was that? Time for myself. I hardly believe I even thought that. This is my life, I wanted it, and now I unfortunately realize a woman’s place is right where I am.”
