Off the leash – 5th Air Force

At a full point, the Shepard was trained to sit and place his paws in an oddly human cross, and the crowd felt a sense of pride. The military families, eyed the sharply dressed men and women of MWD, Military Working Dog division of handlers. Instead of petting the serious dogs, they were enjoying lingering around to watch some of the training movements they learned.

Six Sentence Story

***

Joe stood on the very edge. His wife Clara hung onto the back of his shirt. Leaning over as much as he dared, he yelled. “I want to hear your echo!” Hearing no response, finally stepping closer to the cliff edge and yelling it again…

“Step back from the edge before you fall, idiot!”

Of course I have to respond with a snarky comment here,

just a thought to be thorough, dear,

battling my brain

to refrain

from moving through,

down the drain,

our lovely leader, another complaint.

His mouth is caustic,

needs a diagnostic,

not dr oz,

who’s only cause

is to maintain his position

in this administration.

MFFFC – Just an Everyday Thing

***

It is just an everyday thing

He’s used to it now, avoiding the zing

He doesn’t know how the T group knew

But the daily zing out of the blue

When discussing the horrid news

Gave him that hurtful clue

When he complained even to his wife

An electrical jolt hit him like a knife

He soon learned to cover in a hazmat suit

When reading news, giving T group the boot.

SoCS 12-27-25 – Must be the Weather!

I try to think of it as a plot

Whenever I look for some thing and it’s not

Where I left it the other day

It’s Murphy’s fault I often say

As I age he’s getting bolder

Seems he’s always sitting on my shoulder

But now I find I’m not the only one

Think he’s multiplying under the sun

So I’ll stay inside and hope it rains

So my other shoulder he won’t gain.

FFFAW 12-23-17 and the Daily Prompt: Proclivity

I have a needed tendency, proclivity

To try different forms of creativity

I’ve always been an eager and curious sort

But now I’m very sorry to report

I’ve tried different forms to improve my ability

But try as I might my absorbability

Must be too limited, I fear

You quite often see it here

My aspirations are great

I feel hopeful at the gate

But then talent abates

As I sit here and wait

For inspirational traits

To take over, conflate

My brain won’t equate

My ego deflates

And you’re left with…

This.

Fandango’s Flashback Friday — December 26th

MLMM Wordle

***

The joyful three year old wobbled with every step, but insisted she wear the higher heeled shoes that matched her fairy dress. The tinsel necklace tickled her chin but she would not swipe it away because she was content being the star of the reception. The huge crowd of residents looked sweetly at the flower girl and the pretty bride was surprised she was not the star of the show after her little sister appeared.

Living Poetry

Oh no, put out that fire!

Don’t want to burn Santa’s attire…

I know you say he’s magical

All spirit and love will be reciprocal

But I tell you now

You can’t allow

The chimney’s hot coals and smoke

He may choose to revoke

Stopping on your snowy roof

I’m kidding you, just a spoof

It’s a joke with no reason

Celebrating the holiday season.

Happy Holidays!
