Of course this is one of my all time favorite movies and I have the soundtrack, play it often. A mix of comedic lines, the angst of one man trying to make a go of it in a poor town, all mean a good story to me. I recommend the movie and the music.

Autumn is my favorite season, looking forward to the beauty of the trees and the fluff of white that follows. Thanksgiving is the best, everyone gathering around a big table full of family favorites. Tim’s favorite green beans, T’s favorite sweet potatoes and my favorite strawberry salad. Memories of jello salad disasters bring laughs and games with everyone talking at once, but the best is being surrounded by the ones you love.
No matter what happens in the outside world we stay united, full of respect and love for each other, and this day celebrates that fact. Family is everlasting.

I’ll choose instead a book
Not watching the well known aeolist
Or anticipate election news
I’m sure he’s glued to Twitter
His thumbs reveal his views.
I’ll ignore the weather
Even though it’s sunny
I won’t guess the lottery
I don’t have any money.
When this day is over
I hope we’ll find some peace
And jail that orange brain
With no hope for release
His endangerment of all of us
Beyond compare even in war
It’s overtime to remove this blot
On US history by far.

Paula has a migraine, and I’ve never had one, but can imagine it’s horrid. I’ve been peeved the last few months and written about it here too much. Today is no exception.
I find sleep eludes me as I cannot stop reading the daily horror that is news. Today it is the constant acceptance and praise Trump gives to the violent faction of his followers. Why he constantly thumbs his nose at decorum and ethics and gets away with this behavior is mind numbing. Of course if my mind was numb then I could sleep. Maybe I need to take up a new hobby–drugs and alcohol!

If old orange brain loses, the storm continues. Riots, vandalism, shootings, and in reality I am frightened. Not for myself as I am isolated, but for my kids and their kids, here in the US. I have a son and daughter-in-law living in France now, and Covid is surging there.
As a mother and grandmother, I don’t think we as a “civilized” nation will be able to pacify the orange monster who is currently in control. If he loses, the US will be an even crazier place than it is now, at least until January.
I can picture him hiding behind the new wall being built as we speak, with all of his obnoxious flag bearing armed minions lined up around it. A true visible nightmare come true.
The American flag symbol is being misrepresented by these people who wear military garb, never having been qualified to wear the uniform. These people are wooden nickels.

If these bus incidents are precursors to actions post election, it is a scary thought. Amassing intimidating poll watchers is bad enough, threatening to throw out ballots, creating fake ballot boxes, all disgusting attempts to take control of the election by any means but the Biden Harris bus being surrounded by these Trump hooligans causing the campaign stop be cancelled is against the law. Then Trump praised these militant actions? I didn’t think he could go any lower. How far will he go if he loses?
I suspect when the call has been answered and the toll is tallied, the rattle of hateful words will cause shame, at least I hope so. Until those hands come to a crossroads and choose a better path, we will all fall.
