Cyranny’s 1MinFiction – Gobbles

It seemed like an ordinary day, just dressing to grocery shop, take out the trash and even looked sunny! I opened the door. Cars parked, not unusual, the yard across the street with its odd shrubs and trees, but then I looked up. The gobbles were coming!

(When my oldest granddaughter hated being strapped in a car seat she would throw a screaming fit. Her dad stopped it by telling her to look out the window to the dark gray clouds, telling her they were the gobbles and if she wasn’t good…it only took a crack in her window and she’d settle down.)

dVerse Poets – Colors

***

I am red.

I am the color of soft satin sheets of seduction.

I am the prominent color of a hot summer morning sunrise.

I am the beauty of a single perfect rose.

I am the red hot chili pepper spice in your food.

I am the mouthwatering sweet flesh of fresh fruits.

I am the six inch stilettos worn by a female impersonator.

I am the flame that burns too hot.

I am the dark sticky residue sprawled on the street after Jack the Ripper’s work.

Tuesday Story

I’m excited to go. Last time she went on vacation to the mountains I was small and I loved it. You stayed at the vet, remember?

Uh, no, she’s taking me this time, you are the one staying at the vet! She has a surprise for you, but don’t worry, you’ll feel much better soon. Heh heh.
