She felt on a verge
As feelings emerged
Realization a crash
Startled her—a flash
Heart again climbing aflame
Hearing him say her name
Spoken in the night
In dull grainy light.
Her lips almost a bow
“You have to know”
Said hesitantly slow
“It’s always been you”.
No longer a mystery
He studied her quietly
Then bearing a whisper
Soft as a vesper
“I love you too”
And in the evening glimmer
Their old feelings simmered.

Jake returned his attention to the flame. As soon as the forge’s gage reached about 2100 degrees and showed white/yellow, it would be ready. It wasn’t the first time he had made a weapon like this and he thought of the ancient ones who had to judge only by looks if the temperature was right. He had the talent and was often asked to make these blades and the truth was he enjoyed it. What the buyer did with the finished product was not Jake’s concern. He brought the blade out of the heat and placed into the water to cool and then shape. He could not help but smile, he was so proud .

It was minuscule protection against the cold of the sidewalk. Snow had punched its way through the previous springlike week and the temperatures returned to winter. As her body shivered and began to quake uncontrollably, she pulled the army green around her more tightly. The quilt was one of the last items she had left from her soldiering days; along with a wrinkled uniform jacket with a colorful row of medals, she wondered what it had all been for.

Z for – you guessed it, Zeus! Zeus is the Olympian god of the sky and the thunder, the king of all other gods and men, and, consequently, the chief figure in Greek mythology. The son of Cronus and Rhea, he is famous for his infidelity to his sister and wife, Hera. Athena, Apollo and Artemis, Hermes, Dionysus, Heracles, Helen of Troy, and the Muses are all children of his numerous erotic affairs. Hephaestus, Hebe, and Ares are his legitimate children.

His name comes from the Ancient Greek word bright and has a close connection with dies, which is the Latin word for “day” and has a very ancient history. He was respected as an all father who was chief of the gods and assigned roles to the others. Therefore, many mythologists believe that Zeus is one of the oldest Greek gods.
Zeus is portrayed with a scepter in one hand and a thunderbolt in the other – both symbols of his authority.

Young brother and sister hated school
father, king of the castle raised no fools.
He wanted to shine a light on learning to read and his lazy children were in dire need
of instruction and a jolt of reality
instead of constantly playing in the nearby sea.
He printed a schedule on a teacher’s arm
while the man took the pledge to “cause no harm—
but teach the children” and he warned them too:
everyone follows their father’s rule.

I have to say this set of questions is quite a bummer Rory, but maybe it’s just my own answers? Thanks for the post.
