dVerse Poets Poetics

New to the vastness of the sea, trembling as the waves creep up incessantly
I see her there, splashing in the ocean surf, daring to stretch further into the water Remembering my first dip from the sand to enter the water’s edge
I too, was afraid, realizing the power of the waves
Relentless, clamouring to swallow up more of the quiescent sand
Ever moving inward as orchestrated tides pursue dry land.
She runs out, looks around and then dashes back into the sea.

W3 – Munderlings

It’s almost dawn, the cows awake

Off to the barn for the master’s take

Squeezed and pulled at my private parts

I wonder if the farmers have a heart

Pushed and pulled into stantions hard and cold

Would you think they would be so bold

To grab private munderlings and hold

A slap on the side, on the soft back side

Trying not to slip with a messy glide

Into the trough where unpleasant smells reside

We all can’t wait till we’re back outside.

W3 Prompt #67: Wea’ve Written Weekly

3TC – Originally Unrequited Art

Art may be in the eye of the beholder, but think of all the dead artists who were trying to find compensation for their own format, or design. They were in the dilemma of how to make a living doing what they loved, in pursuit of their dream. A well known artist, Jackson Pollock was known for his colorful splattered patterns on black canvases and died at the age of forty-four in an alcohol related accident.

Fandango’s Story Starter

This week’s Story Starter teaser is: The young woman was sitting on a tree stump at the edge of the river when she noticed something strange in the water. “I know what I saw” she explained to Harvey, as he started joking around trying to push her into the lake. Harvey started humming the Jaws theme and edged her closer to the water. When Sandy stiffened, he stopped.

“What’s the matter? Afraid of a little shark? Or it could be the Loch Ness monster!” Then Harvey shrieked like a girl. Sandy turned from him to see where he was looking. Standing up, dripping with blood, a severed leg in its mouth, was
.

Harvey and Sandy disappeared that afternoon and their friends just assumed they had finally run off to get married.

Simply Six Minutes

Okay, first—you in the back, please shut up, and listen, because I am here for one purpose only, and that is to decide if the rest of my people, yes, I said people, should come here to colonize. We were much like you in many ways, we needed air to breathe and flora and fauna to live. Already I see you are making the same mistakes we made—not taking care of your planet. We used to resemble you, but transformed ourselves to adapt, but even that’s no longer working. By the attitudes I have observed in my short stay, I no longer think this would be a viable new home; maybe heed this as a warning? I don’t need to see your “leader”.

MLMM Wordle

Mildred was one of a kind, always sporting the biggest smile, no filter or boundaries on her words, and she expressed every thought. This might think an excess to some, but Mildred could consume your external borders with minimum effort. Your face would duplicate hers immediately as if you had no choice, and your screen would be improved. A frozen personality would instantly succumb to Mildred’s charms and will. I often wonder if she was a wizard?

“Three Days of the Condor”

We have (enjoyed) daily thunderstorms so I choose to watch an old movie then. Today I chose this one and it does not disappoint! Of course I watched it when it first came out in a movie theater back in the day😂. It was made fifty years ago but worth every minute.I looked up Sidney Pollack because I’ve always liked his movies only to be saddened by the fact he died from cancer at 73, in 2004đŸ˜łđŸ˜„. Ffin’ cancer😡.
