If only they really knew constituents
Listened to pleas and were fluent
In their language, and cared to listen
To ideas and words, not be remiss then
Actually care about those persons
Instead they let the communities worsen
Building walls instead of bridges
Not listening, remaining rigid.

Weekend Writing Prompt #444 – Fluent

Fandango’s Flashback Friday

FFFAW – Attraction

“Girl, what are you wearing?” Gina was laughing at her friend Gloria. “You think that flower is going to get you a man? Girl, you are crazy! You know all they think about is their next meal, give it up!”
Gloria kept strutting around, hoping to stand out enough on the purple gravel to attract George, her favorite beau. “George likes flowers, and I think he’ll be happy to see the ones I’m wearing.”
“You be careful now!” As Gina left, she saw George jump down, landing right next to Gloria. “Guess she was right, he does love those flowers!”

“Seeing is believing, but I still can’t fathom it!” Joe declared, sitting with his wife Maddie. Maddie thought it was impossible to hear. The past few months had been a nightmare, as far as she and Joe were concerned. Joe lost his regular job, and Maddie was just hanging on to hers, a nurse in the small local hospital. It seemed that since Joe had now become part of the National Guard, his beliefs were skewed. The town was in turmoil with Joe and his friends asked to do the president‘s bidding. “They shot and killed him”, he mumbled sadly.
