Join marching band!

It’ll be fun they said

People will cheer and applaud they said.

The bass a good choice if you’re a big guy,

but a small girl? Ask her why

She chose percussion

And hear her discussion…

Be prepared, she’s a talker!

W3 Amusement

***

He started the day with “honey…”

Knew what was next… “bunny”

Speaking this way

He starts every day

And I really don’t think it’s funny.

A man I once knew a few years ago

Remarked he thought I was slow

“I thought you loved me, liked it that way”

Next thing I knew he was walking away

I guess if you think hard enough you realize

Men don’t know women and we don’t know guys!

Amusement comes in many forms

Usually attacking established norms

Everyday days seem endless at times

That’s when I like to make funny rhymes.

“Funny?” he queried, “what makes you think so?”

“Oh well” I replied, “at least I’m no longer slow!”

W3 Prompt #116: Wea’ve Written Weekly

WDYS 7-15-24

Her perfect dream of heaven suddenly appeared. Here she could rock forever, back and forth, weaving the past in her mind like a beautiful quilt of memories. Listening to nature was also a dream, after being in pain, in a colorless room, laying in a white sheeted bed, a long time, too long, and she dreamed of just this setting, and now here she was. Finally she was in a painless rest.

Time

***

Jim Croce sang it best I think, “if I could put time in a bottle”…how many of us have wished that at one time? Or many? Personally I can think of many now, but a few months ago I was asked if I could relive one moment from my past what would it be? I answered none. That’s the mood I’ve been in the last few months. Not really a bad mood but not my usual funny self. I think my humor is drifting to the dark side…ooooo! Here is the man himself:

Writing Prompts

Some days are like that…

I feel like I want this car, want to speed down a highway that goes where, well I don’t really care where. Maybe I just want to get into this car and drive until the road ends. The endless road behind me I hope stretches for miles ahead.

Super highway

“This must be misplaced. It’s not for sale” and the man grabbed the book from Jeremy. The tome was leather bound and worn at the edges. It resembled a diary and had a leather strap and lock. The owner of the store quickly placed the book under the counter and stood there making sure the book was safe.

Jeremy was mystified and asked the man if it belonged to a relative of his. The older man looked Jeremy in the eye and admitted yes, it belonged to his grandfather. “Then why was it out here in the store?”

The proprietor leaned in to Jeremy and said, “it often places itself out here.”

“What?”

“Yes, you see my grandfather’s ghost lives here and I think he wants people to read his adventures”.
Jeremy turned and quickly walked out of the establishment, never to return.
