The aged man cracked a smile just thinking of the crime he would arrange. His wisdom in creating it was in question, but he decided to remedy his fate of a lifelong terrible marriage and started gathering a particular bunch of herbs. The victim, his wife, was extremely susceptible to the scents of lobelia, oleander, and licorice root, and the man covered these poisonous plants with a large flower bouquet. Over the course of a few warm days, the fan she used would distribute the toxic herb odors, and her vulnerable body would succumb to their effects. He removed the bouquet of plants that led to her demise, knowing the coroner would check her condition. Then he opened windows to let in fresh air before calling 911, and hoped his battle was over.

MLMM Monday Wordle #393

OLWG –

This week’s prompts are:

  1. an old Patti Smith song
  2. need more blue in the shadows
  3. when I left El Paso

***

When I left El Paso, I started to sing along

With “Wing”, an old Patti Smith song

“And if there’s one thing, could do for you, you’d be a wing in heaven blue”

The words were dreamlike, stirred up a memory

That I need more blue in the shadows of my sensory

I drove all night until I reached her in Colorado

Route I twenty five, my tired eyes dark hollow

And then I spied her, waiting-certainly in blue

We were on that wavelength

Just between us two.

Here are this week’s questions:

1.  What do you miss most from your childhood? I miss having land, meadows, grass, trees and streams close to me.

2.  Would you like to relive parts of your childhood? Some of the holiday gatherings especially, and tranquil times swinging from the oak tree.

3.  As an adult, did you pass on any of your childhood traits to your children/nephews/nieces ? Unfortunately yes! Just kidding, but everyone does, the good, the bad and the funny…stubborness, impatience probably.

4. Were your parents strict but fair in their discipline? Parents were quite strict, fair example being this—matter who started it, all punished, no excuses heard?

Gratitude: I am so grateful I saw my oldest granddaughter who is finishing up training in PA as a pediatrician. She came for some interviews here.

“What’s your sign, beautiful? It must be Virgo…” Joe always tried starting a conversation with a woman with this line.

“You mean, what’s my type?”

The woman turned away from Joe and continued to drink her cocktail. Joe is not the best at trying to make an impression and this question he asked was way too cliche for this young woman.

“Well, I guess so. You’re not into astrology then? I think it’s pretty interesting myself.”

“If you must know I’m a Scorpio. I’m sitting here by myself for a reason and I don’t care for any company. Thanks for asking.”

Joe decided she fit the Scorpio personality perfectly, and tried his line again at the end of the bar.

The English teacher stands before his class and asks them to observe this photograph. He speaks his own observation as an example: “Gray storm landscapes, the season changes when cooler breezes tear the leaves from their freezing limbs. Observed once fresh and green in spring, the soft summer hues turn to vibrant autumn brilliance. Then the season chills, leaves mutate to brown, dry, and curling, showing their vulnerability in stronger winds. The trees start to bare, sad dark tones fill the skies.” The instructor finished his speech with a quote:“There you can see a very small patch Of dark blue, framed by a little branch, Pinned up by a naughty star”. Arthur Rimbaud

The group of students were asked by the teacher to use his words as examples as well as the quote.

Well I could take the floor

Complain about Trump and more

I’m sure you’re tired of my rhetoric

So I’ll post a picture you’ll get a kick

Out of I hope, it made my day

When a now 18 year old was dressed up for a play

Time is fleeting, they say it flies

It’s fun to see how grandchildren rise.

First time voting!👍🏻💪🏻🇱🇷
