Getting to Know You 38

***

I am not mainly because I’ve been in the drivers seat.

Definitely the beach.

Scorching!

I had to put this cartoon on because it reminded me of a nonstop trip from Houston to Denver. It was late into the trip and dark and I was looking out the front window and saw about five deer right in the middle of the road. I noticed he was not slowing down, so I said “deer”. He still wasn’t slowing down, so I repeated “deer” louder and then I finally just yelled “deer!” And he swerved and missed them.🙄. Okay I can hear the jokes about married people not listening to each other…comments?😂

Get to Know You #38

W3 – Fantasy

***

She dreams

In greens

Laying there on

Soft mossy ground

The path taken

Through a mysterious door

A new direction of compass

Risk assumed

An odyssey…

A sweetness on her tongue

Tasting the cherished forest with

Magical trees

In her fairytale

She dreams to feel the green.

Joe read the note
It wasn’t in the least remote
Fortifying his response
Cigarettes and whiskey long
Even then he felt no shame
Putting her writing to the flame
Detective work can make you queasy
Falling for the guilty isn’t easy
Tried his best to not get involved
When it was done, and the crime solved
He found himself in his favorite bar
Where playing the blues was the star.

Fandango’s Story Starter

This week’s Story Starter teaser is:

As Paul flicked through the letters, a small, handwritten envelope caught his attention and his heart began to thump. “Oh, my god, it’s from my mother! This can’t be good. Let’s see”. Paul ripped open the envelope and recognizes his mother’s handwriting.

“To my dearest favorite son, Paul. I know you’re not ready to hear this, my dear, but facts are facts. I went to the doctor on Monday for my regular check up. You know how I’m faithful for my check ups, and I’ve had the same doctor for 25 years! When I went in on Monday, he did his regular exam and we found out that I have to have—are you sitting down, dear? A tumor removed and major spinal infusion. Now don’t get yourself all upset, it will be easily removed and then I probably, maybe, possibly, might, be paralyzed. Of course it’s a remote possibility, but I have to make plans just in case something does go wrong. Naturally, you were the first person I thought of.”

Paul read the note, put it down on the table, and then went to the cupboard and pulled out the whiskey and a very large glass.

Here we see a happy place

No need for life’s busy race

I think it is the colors here

Promoting happiness, no fear

Homes all bright and cheery seen

Even the resting boats between

Have you ever seen or been

To a pleasant place that makes you grin

The vibrant shades of basic hues

However could you choose

A home to love, only one

And think you’re done?
