Crimsons’ Creative Challenge #041

“A cupola! I can sit there, views above all to inspire my writing! Can you see how perfect it is?”
“I like the front porch, even the balcony above it is a great vantage point.”
“For what, exactly? You can’t shoot any ducks from there, it’s illegal!”
“It’s my porch, my property, I’ll do what I want. Ducks will be flying and as far as I know the air is free to everyone, including animals.”
“Free, you said it, ducks should be free to fly without being harmed!”
“So that duck a l’orange cooking flew into the oven by itself.”

Can You Tell A Story In…

“Do you think that’s wise, keeping the clothes outside to dry?” The tepid demeanor of the daughter-in-law revealed her distaste for the question.
“Unlike a dryer which takes power we would have to pay for, plus the sheets etc to make our clothes feel fresh, hanging them outside is better. It makes the fabric last longer, they smell so fresh, and there’s no need for perfumed extras.“

Three Things Challenge #MM108

This word choices invades my mind, reminding me I should have made a different choice, and to listen to my own advice. Recently I had a long discussion with a friend about many things and ended in politics. I mistakenly thought we could openly discuss anything but I was wrong. I know every advice says, no religion, no politics. I stepped over the line apparently. I made the wrong choice and learned a lesson at the same time. I was told never to call or text again. I apologized profusely, but the damage is done. Why did I make that choice? I felt free to, but no.

#Tanka Tuesday Poetry Challenge No. 19, Nonet, 7/ 1/ 25

All the neighbors shopped on one block
Owners always kept wants in stock
Then Joe started helping himself
Stole his wants right from the shelf
Owners then watched Joe like a hawk.

Laughing Along With A Limerick

The time when soft distant chimes were causing a soothing melody is in the past. Unless you live in certain areas of Europe where the decades of sane villages continue pleasant chatter in a safe warm room. Now we retreat under a leafy weeping willow tree to enjoy a long private conversation.
