Joy, so happily expressed in a full hot pink skirt

Dancing and swirling around my feet – soft shoes and pink socks move to the rhythm of a polka

Oompahs easily stepped to, all whirling as if the hot breeze itself sets the pace

Sunset approaching amplifies the happy hues, though shadows dare not yet appear

The day colors of joy and summer brights raising spirits subtly move aside allowing darker hues to creep into the sunset sky.

Poetics: Personifying The Abstract

Waiting

***

Is there anyone out there that likes to wait?

Certainly not me and I offer complaint

Expecting a dull week with no activities

I get a morning call with proclivities

An outing which I need and want

So I hurry, get ready for the jaunt

Then I receive a call, saying no hurry at all

Decided the timing would be slowed to a crawl.

So I’m sitting here waiting to hear when to leave

Waiting and waiting and waiting to receive

A text that will tell me…I have to believe

This trip, in what hour? will be achieved.

Six Sentence Story

***

Everyone seems to pay by card these days. Cash isn’t even an option in some stores. When did we get so dependent on credit cards? My experience recently was with a bank card being denied and nothing to do except go to the bank and have them issue another. Of course all the bills I pay with the original card have to be called and given the new card details. It is irritating but we have no choice!

Sunday’s Six Sentence Story Word Prompt!

The Sunday Whirl

***

The trim on the shiny bowl started to lose its glimmer as I fell deeper into the trance. A sudden chain rattling woke me and I felt faint. The embers of a wild herb burning in the silver bowl calmed me. The moment of feeling free was gone and the reality of sorrow overwhelmed me again. The herbalist dipped more herbs on the embers and my mind was again saved from my daily lament. I was told not to choose this method of healing, but at least I have a few hours of peace.
