Realization

Joe woke up, used the bathroom and washed his hands. Then he looked at his face in the mirror and thought, who is the real you, now, Joe? This early morning ritual had become a call of duty for him. It wasn’t easy to be at home, locked away from his friends, having to restrict his movements. Keeping his distance now, reminded him of times in the 70s.

In the cult he was bound by certain rules, but this was worse. He had no person to give him a morning greeting, no inspirational gathering ending in a hug. He realized now that was all made up, fake, and with that thought he managed a smile, thinking fake news. That’s what everyone said they were preaching in the commune. The world was coming to an end, and you needed to join them to be saved.

Joe looked back at himself and shrugged. As he looked around his home, he thought the only one he could count on now, was himself.

Guy’s What’s Your Story Then?

***

“Well I’m not going and you can’t force me!”

“Please, Ethel, you know how I love these affairs, and I need to go.”

“Rupert, I’ve told you many times, these people are gossip mongers. I do not enjoy sitting in a crowd of the so called society elite, discussing their stock holdings or what child got into the latest academy! ”

“Well, I’m going. I need to get the latest inside info on the stock I just bought.”

What Day is it? 3-22-20

Linda over at https://lindaghill.com has an idea as we are all in the same boat, so to speak, so how are you coping? Check it out and tell us how you are, what you’re up to.

Today I woke up feeling positive and decided I am going to convince my kids I want an adventure when all of this is over. And it will be over, it will pass, even though T has put the US in jeopardy by completely ignoring a world crisis.

One of my dreams has been hangliding. Okay, laugh, because who thinks an old lady should be doing that? But I’ll save up, and I’m going to do it. It’s not like I could hurt myself anymore. I’m already in a wheelchair, so what’s the harm? I’m a survivor, tougher than you might think and determined. Not always a good quality. . .

So there you have it. As soon as the crisis is over I’m not waiting any longer.

Linda’s What Day is it Anyway?

Linda of https://lindaghill.com suggests that now being in isolation, without regular go to work days, can pass on our days’ events or non events by posting a diary of sorts. So here goes, and I warn you, Boorrring! I am usually pretty isolated so not a big deal for me. I miss family though.

3-21-20

Woke up, very warm and comfortable at five, stayed in bed till eight, I know, spoiled. It’s so hard to get comfy enough at night to sleep, I take full advantage of sleeping in.

Checked phone, turned off mute, sunny 50+ degrees, yes, spring again with snow on the ground. Enjoying coffee, reading blogs and now it’s already 1:30 in the afternoon!

Wrote a few posts–thanks for reading, sent and viewed a few snapchats with grandkids. Now deciding if I want leftover from last night spaghetti or something new. I’m trying to stretch my fresh food so left salad for another time instead of having it last night with pasta. I usually eat one meal a day around three, so have time.

Decided on making tuna salad before the celery turns. I have half an onion, I need to add them to my list.

Told you, boring. I have laundry to fold. 🙄. Blanket best friends:

MLMM Saturday Mix

***

My love, I miss you

Every day is lonely fare

Are you missing me

Letters too infrequent sent

Stained with tears’ lonely lament.

***

Missing you, my heart

Want your arms touching my soul

Reach for you each night

Write on, the message I’ll read

Cry together in our need.

SoCS 3-21-20

The prompt today is welcome! I say welcome spring! I say it, I ask for it, but nothing really happens as blizzard conditions and 17 degree, feels like -1 temps were bringing in the new season. I have a welcome mat on my door but it’s inside because any mats here are blown away by our (cough) winds. I found that out right after purchasing a heavy expensive beautiful one for my apartment in November 2014.

I do have a taped note on my door welcoming any delivery people to please knock and leave the box! Thank you. I guess that’s sort of a welcome greeting. Having lived here for six years, they know me by now and do just that.

By the way, I found some bars of soap hidden behind a box of trash bags on the bathroom shelf, and since I just purchased some new ones on the 12th, I now have tons of soap. If you need some, call and I’ll leave a bar on the doorstep for you☺️

Stay safe and healthy people!🥰
