“Why, mama, I don’t think I could possibly wear that old corset. My figure does not need such restraint!” Jenny’s mom pulled the corset strings tighter. She was going to make her daughter appear the best she could. Mary did covet the neighbor’s beau and was determined her daughter would be ready to steal him.

Three Things Challenge #MM187

MLMM Friday Faithfuls

Respond to this Friday Faithfuls challenge by writing anything about the human condition, or share some of your experiences, emotions, challenges, and questions that defined you, or examine how love shaped your life, discussing the complexities of relationships, family bonds, friendship, and what it means to care for others, or write about overcoming adversity.

Today’s human condition is in chaos. Since Trump has tried to change all of the USA’s laws, destroying our entire country’s basic tenets, the world no longer sees our country as a fine place to live. Even if this is not their attitude and they still feel this place is ideal, they won’t be allowed to come. Our friends are now prior enemies, and our old friends are giving up on us. Ordinary citizens are in shock and fight back with protests but soon I feel these brave people will be shot or jailed according to Trump’s speeches. Overcoming adversity used to mean something you experience and work to control. Now it’s life threatening. A doomsayer, you say? People are afraid to walk in public areas, have to walk their children to school, or try to eat in favorite restaurants? It’s not a person they are frightened of, it’s the government!

Seven is not my lucky number. I think nine may be it, because so many nines are in my life. My husband’s birthday, January 9, my mother’s birthday, February 9, and my birthday 9-9-?😄. I use nine in my email and also passwords. Now my granddaughter chose 9 for her college soccer team. So, the nine lives on!

blue is a favorite

hues bright and dark displayed in skies

sky blue or robin’s egg blue make my day

reflections in navy blue pools stand up

blue green waves topped with white caressing sandy shores

columbine flowers and lilies, all defined colors

morning sunshine lifts in sky blue background

azure blue of my daughter’s eyes wins
