FDDA#18

My first love, I wonder where he is now! He was my nearest neighbor, probably three miles? down the road but I saw him in school every day til fourth grade. That’s when the sixth graders graduated to a different school in another town. He was blonde and cute and all the girls liked him. At recess, we took turns skating down a small incline of leftover ice in the wooded area of the school where he stood at the bottom to catch girls like me, “so we wouldn’t fall down at the end”. It was a mutual delight.

I saw him and a friend again at a dance when I was sixteen and he was attending college. His friend took a liking to me and my friend took a liking to him. Love is so fickle at that age☺️.

Home Remedy

Joe decided the only way to stay well was to take his mother’s advice. He poured a deep glass of rain water, used a fine net to drain the sand residue from the container, added caraway seeds and left it to steep.

His mother only heeded advice from the local farmer’s chain of “History of Medicine” booklets and Joe never would think she was not sincere. However, he did spy on her book once when he was younger. Trying a home remedy on his cat did not work out well.

Sammiscribbles Weekend Writing Prompt 8-15-20

“Hey watch out!”

He said so hostile,

While all of us were

Having a jostle

The bus crowded

No doubt about it

No need for to shout it

“Keep your distance”

The rules were plain

But when traveling

It’s a no-go plan.
