She’s only two
but a critic too
she only plays with toys
that make lots of noise
any toy that she can shake
any color or even shape
any type of fabric or fur
a stuffed teddy should allure
but if it doesn’t squeak, it’s not for her
anything noisy is her favorite bite
her best is loud, a parent’s plight.

SYW 1-22-24

Here are this week’s questions:

1. Do you find yourself smiling at people for no apparent reason? I smile all the time, probably people think I’m weird…they’re not wrong.

2. If someone smiles at you in the street, do you return it? Definitely

3. Do you feel comfortable on a crowded street? Not since being in a chair.

4. Would you prefer a walk in the woods, a walk on the beach, or a walk round a town seeing the sights? The woods, always!

Gratitude: I am grateful I have such a helpful daughter and an outing yesterday was full of laughs.

JJJ 22 – Mood

Please be sure to visit Dar’s blog to read her posts and say hello. And follow her while you’re there if you’re not already.

Your prompt for JusJoJan January 22nd, 2024 is “mood.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

You wouldn’t want to be in my mood today. However I’m still alive and smiling! This is not a picture of my mess, it’s a Shutterstock pic but mine was worse. Then I had a another disaster at a store. Then tonight I dropped and broke a big glass bottle of water and a whole meal plate on the floor. So yeah, I guess you describe my mood today as one big MESS!

Daily Prompt – JusJoJan the 22nd, 2024

3TC – “No way!”

Your three words today are:
SMALL COMPACT TINY

It was their old argument seeing the light of day again. He was sure that the old tiny coffee cup would hold his favorite coffee but he wasn’t paying attention, (as usual, she muttered under her breath) and there was a mess.

“Why can’t you use one of those larger compact coffee containers that your company advertises? They would hold it, plus keep it hot!”

Never giving in to his wife’s advice (even when he knew she was right), he said, “They’re way too small and I’d have to refill it often. I have to work for them, I’m not going to give them free advertising!”

The Sunday Whirl

***

“So this is a game to you, eh?” The curl of his blonde hair settled over the scar on his cheek. She felt faint, as a flicker of the hidden red in his eyes shown. He circled her neck with the tip of his hand and the words of protest failed her. She knew the key to survival was to split her mind into two parts: what was happening now and what would happen if she balked at his touch. The strong spirit born into her was crushed as he bared his fangs.

PROMPT WORD: ACCESS

***

Access means a lot more to me the last twelve years than it did before then. I now have no access to stairs unless carried up by one of my strong grandsons or pulled up one at a time in a wheelchair. Even handicapped apartments supposedly arranged with bars in showers and bathrooms for access are not completely safe. They get slippery and the bench seat I use gave me a particular thrill ride when soapy residue sent me sliding off, luckily into my hastily grabbed wheelchair. There are efforts to provide access and elevators in new buildings and all of “seated” appreciate them. It’s a bit funny thinking about it and I definitely need to use my sense of humor.

Sunday’s Six Sentence Story Word Prompt!

3TC – Inconceivable!

Your three words today are:
FENCE HEDGE WALL

People, humans, persons, folks, citizens, everyone—deserve a safe place to live. No wall, fence or hedge should obstruct an individual from obtaining that right. The idea of US governors shipping people on buses like cattle is the most disgusting thing allowed here in the US! They are not people any more, they are livestock traveling to unknown places to be “placed” like dogs in shelters. The difference being the dogs actually get food, water and a place to safely stay. These governors remind me of the Holocaust.
