Time

To ask

Will we be

Free persons now

Be able to live

Being able to love

Living safely as we choose

Without bullets flying near us

Children free and safe in playgrounds

Safety for teachers, students in school

“Time to ask will we be free persons now”

Leaves have blackened turned into mulch

Beauty surrendered—winter’s touch

Cold winds blow in evening dusk

Birds flying high on currents warm

Images seen in shadow swarms

Forest animals smell of musk

Wolves and bears prepare for the snow

Fur thickens to keep from the cold

Chilled clouds moving in wind seem brusque.

Thursday Inspiration – Patience

Thanksgiving table set up proper

Little ones hungry, whining awful

Impatient to eat the feast

Waiting not easy to be ceased

Watching as the sidebar sits

With desserts and candy bits

Finally the mothers come in, proud

Eating the meal is allowed

Patience is a virtue, said

Waiting for the meat and bread

Little voices are always hushed

As prayers spoken, they hope rushed

Pleasant humming of voices heard

In between bites all are blurred.

Friday Fictioneers

Life is hectic, Sara thought, approaching the mall. If I shopped ahead of time I wouldn’t be facing this chaos. Christmas had become difficult now everyone was an adult. No playing with toys on displays seeing what little ones might like, or outfits for small children. Now it’s all tech gadgets Sarah didn’t know how to use, or care to, really. She missed the earlier times. A shopping trip used to be an outlet, a fun activity, now just a chore. Sara stepped to cross the street and was almost run down by a scooter. A sign of the times.
