Six Sentence Story

Everyone seems to pay by card these days. Cash isn’t even an option in some stores. When did we get so dependent on credit cards? My experience recently was with a bank card being denied and nothing to do except go to the bank and have them issue another. Of course all the bills I pay with the original card have to be called and given the new card details. It is irritating but we have no choice!

The Sunday Whirl

***

The trim on the shiny bowl started to lose its glimmer as I fell deeper into the trance. A sudden chain rattling woke me and I felt faint. The embers of a wild herb burning in the silver bowl calmed me. The moment of feeling free was gone and the reality of sorrow overwhelmed me again. The herbalist dipped more herbs on the embers and my mind was again saved from my daily lament. I was told not to choose this method of healing, but at least I have a few hours of peace.

Joe stood by the shuttle’s on-ramp, waiting to see the winter sky view, where he would watch through windows to see every flake of snow turn the landscape into a skier’s dream.  He often thought of how his ancestors must have struggled to go over these rough mountains.  Reading back into the past, Joe saw letters of the pioneers in his family who overcame what he now enjoys with ease.

Speaking of calendars, if I did not have a phone to keep track of all the doctors, businesses and phone numbers I add to my calendar, I’d probably miss a lot. As it is I have two medical rings on my phone so I don’t forget medicines. Every doctor has multiple numbers and I use my phone to keep them handy. The calendar is utilized as I can’t drive so I have someone else make appointments for me when they’re free to give me rides and I transfer to my phone calendar. I no longer have paper calendars hanging on my fridge, etc, and hope I never lose my phone. It’s a safety issue for me, so it’s attached at the hip😂JK. Have a nice weekend🤩

Fandango’s Flashback Friday

Linda’s What Day is it Anyway by rugby843, posted in uncategorized

Linda of https://lindaghill.com suggests that now being in isolation, without regular go to work days, can pass on our days’ events or non events by posting a diary of sorts. So here goes, and I warn you, Boorrring! I am usually pretty isolated so not a big deal for me. I miss family though.

Woke up, very warm and comfortable at five, stayed in bed till eight, I know, spoiled. It’s so hard to get comfy enough at night to sleep, I take full advantage of sleeping in.

Checked phone, turned off mute, sunny 50+ degrees, yes, spring again with snow on the ground. Enjoying coffee, reading blogs and now it’s already 1:30 in the afternoon!

Wrote a few posts–thanks for reading, sent and viewed a few snapchats with grandkids. Now deciding if I want leftover from last night spaghetti or something new. I’m trying to stretch my fresh food so left salad for another time instead of having it last night with pasta. I usually eat one meal a day around three, so have time.

Decided on making tuna salad before the celery turns. I have half an onion, I need to add them to my list.

Told you, boring. I have laundry to fold. 🙄. Blanket best friends:
