They looked forward for days
Window shopped always
But the pet shop lies
Hear my children‘s cries
Easy to care for he said
You’ll have fun he said
They love the frog, but not the dead flies.

Three Things Challenge #MM21

Quotes I use are usually funny movie lines. Even a serious book has to have something humorous to keep me reading. Right now I am rereading one of the Joe Ledger series by Jonathan Maberry, “Patient Zero”. Joe is all you’d want in a hero but also funny. This is an excerpt of his conversation he has in his first meeting his boss, Mr. Church:

Movie quotes such as “I feel the need, the need for speed”, – you know this one…” bye, Felicia”, “There’s no cry in baseball” “You can’t handle the truth”to name a few we use in our family. I have used the “Blues Brothers” quotes a few times here on my blog. I guess I like the murmuring.

Sunday Confessionals : Murmur

Rules of the hop:
Write 6 Sentences. No more. No less.
Use the current week’s prompt word.
Link up at Wednesday’s post. Link goes live at 6:00 pm through Saturday late…
Spread the word and put in a good one to your fellow writers.
PROMPT WORD: HAUNT
No ghostly white sheet for me. No, I will haunt you and look as I died. In a car accident, smashed to bits because of you. You had to have that last whisky with no food at their dinner, “just one more” you begged. I thought this time we might be safe. I was fatally wrong.

Sunday’s Six Sentence Story Word Prompt!

There is no magic key or wisened sage to bridge the gap of my writing knowledge to a finished poem or story. Occasionally out from the edges of shadows in my brain a world of words appears. It is a stretch to think of it as a muse, for I have none. Once in a while my imaginative blue eyes see a mirage in the hopefully rare desert of imagination.

Wordle 701

Opulence – even the letters that spell this word could be a fashioned item of jewelry which is probably the first thought when reading opulence. I prefer to stretch the meaning a bit and refer to nature.
opulent moon
gazed upon
wishes on stars
shining bright
do not have your richness
ocean waves
dancing to and fro
dolphins jumping
giant turtles floating
your colors, hues opulent
meadows stretch across plains
breezes wave your stems
opulent colors are jewel like
spread your flower
seeding beauty
and some opulent jewelry:
ruby, sapphire, emerald,
gold, silver, diamond
all beautiful

Weekend Writing Prompt #410 – Opulence

You can use a ruler
That’s my advice
But you might faint
Or start rubbing your eyes
The margin of truth seen by us everyday
Is certainly not easily going away
Today there are protests, many
The world is angry, and if any
Are too loud or too rough
The protection of free speech won’t be enough.

Saturday Six Word Story Prompt (6WSP) #132 – Apr 5, 2025
This is a rant because I have paid for the NFHS app for the last four years and whenever I’m watching soccer or basketball, but soccer is the worst, there’s no score there’s no time and whenever there’s action on the field the camera goes to the other end of the field where the goalie is standing there doing nothing. I miss the goals. I miss the action where the ball is and isn’t that the reason for having the camera to follow the action? I’ve had it with them I’ve written them emails – that’s all you can do. nothing changes. It is so disappointing and maddening. That’s the reason for this rant. Now go back to your regular programming.

If you’re looking for something to get your mind off politics, do what I did tonight and watch the movie “CODA”. You won’t be disappointed.

I was thinking pathogen, because I think that the Trump administration is a dangerous pathogen. And then I thought Trump is really pathetic because he is now determined himself the king, patent pending. Patting himself on the back constantly with his lies of what he’s doing. Signing all these orders, holding them up for the press to see and take pictures of are patently just pieces of paper. Nothing can be done with these executive orders until Congress acts and approves, so write your representatives!
