I’ve never had a lack of temper, probably threw a few tantrums as a toddler. The frustration level in a child is a mix of fear, confusion, and worry. As a mother of toddlers, it’s hard to understand how little, not finally formed brains work. Moms want a lasting, close relationship with their children, but other experiences, even of the parents themselves, can determine the outcome. There is a fine line between love and discipline, difficult for a new mother to walk.

A bit much, said with a grin
Though you look lovely, touching her chin
Everyone will see what a beauty you are
They’ll be coming from near and far
She twirled around with her ruffles lifted
And he could see she was indeed gifted.

“It takes a lot of planning and even courtesy to have a wedding come off with no screwups”, Julie’s dad joked. “There’s no real logic involved. If it were, you and Joe would save money by going to a justice of the peace and saving your cash for a nice honeymoon. Right, Matilda?” His wife just rolled her eyes.

“I yield to the senator in the back!” The senator in the front stated this loudly, as the room seemed to erupt at his speechifying. The congress had gotten out of control and everyone was talking at once. No matter how frequent the gavel banging was, people just kept yelling. The senator said, “At this rate, nothing is going to be accomplished!”

His fellow frustrated congresswoman just said “Oh, just shut up!”

The Sunday Whirl

His legacy begun, his opponent demolished, he was eager to step into the presidential realm. No matter the smell of lies surrounding him, it was all a scam, and that’s how his believers tried to turn the public. His everyday shaking up and disappearing of the country’s rich treasure chest didn’t seem to bother anyone at first.

The protestors shout: “It is time for change!”

Sammiscribbles Weekend Writing Prompt

***

Joe and friends met at their secret hideout under Joe’s porch. This day the highly important topic was Julie Smith’s new clothes. Julie, also ten years old, was a grownup beauty for her age. Her attire was often the topic of the boys’ conversations. Julie wore her new fashionable poodle skirt with a flared petticoat to school and was unintentionally indiscreet on the swing set.

Joe’s mom was sitting on the porch, overheard the boys. Later, pretending to be on the phone, said, “why, no, my boys would never!”

Weekend Writing Prompt #432 – Eavesdrop

MLMM – Water

Respond to this Friday Faithfuls challenge by writing anything about water, so you can share a poem about water, or discuss if you like to go swimming or enjoy going to the beach or a lake, or share if you would rather take a bath or a shower, or discuss the water quality from where you live and if you can drink the tap water, or if you have to buy bottled water, or you can go with anything else that you think would fit.

Water is very important to me since I have kidney disease. I use glass bottles with secure caps and fill with water from the tap and put in my fridge. It’s rare I drink anything but a cup of coffee in the morning and water the rest of the day. I have an open shower with a bench and enjoy a warm shower but have no tub. I can’t get into and out of one. The showering sitting on a bench is not ideal, but necessary. In younger days I loved swimming, waterskiing, and wading in brooks. Today I would love to just sit by a stream and listen to the bubbly water.
